Psychological First Aid training

Monday, Jul 19

Join us to learn and practice basic skills to be able to provide psychological first aid. Developed jointly with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, PFA is an evidence-informed modular approach for assisting people in the immediate aftermath of disaster, terrorism, and other traumatic or stressful events: to reduce initial distress, and to foster short- and long-term adaptive functioning.

It is for use by first responders, incident command systems, primary and emergency health care providers, school crisis response teams, faith-based organizations, disaster relief organizations, Community Emergency Response Teams, Medical Reserve Corps, and the Citizens Corps in diverse settings. In this short workshop, we will learn about the history and applications of PFA, practice the 8 core actions to take when providing PFA, and discuss how we can apply PFA in our own community.

RSVP below to receive the zoom link shortly before the meeting.
