Wellesley Climate Emergency Art Saturation

Friday, Oct 02

Join us for a fun and creative art saturation to raise awareness of the climate emergency and what Wellesley can do about it. We will be spray chalking slogans on boards and distributing stickers with our coalition of Wellesley organizations as part of our Emergency Everywhere campaign.

The Town of Wellesley is voting on a resolution in late October that would incorporate the climate crisis in their annual reporting and decision making. The current droughts affecting Wellesley, increases in lyme disease-bearing insects, and shortening ski season are a small fraction of what is to come. On a dead planet there is no economy. Federal finance agencies continue to release reports like the one this month with the headline "Climate change poses a major risk to the stability of the U.S. financial system and to its ability to sustain the American economy."

Our main action will be a funeral parade on 10/24. Event details here. We are raising awareness about this event.

We will maintain social distance and wear masks through the event.

Run time 5-630pm EST. Meet on the lawn in front of Wellesley Town Hall.
